The mission of the Alto La Florida Emergency Brigade is to protect the entire surrounding vegetation and forest of the commune, which are few, and because there are so few, they must be protected from the ground up. Their formation is for this purpose. Over time, the natural resources of the commune of La Florida have been depleted, primarily. Every day more is being built, there are more real estate companies, the land is reaching the mountains, and at some point the mountains will reclaim their terrain, whether through landslides or other transformations. The brigade seeks to protect everything, and this is done on a voluntary basis.
