Red Precordillera: Pioneers in the Defense of Panul
Through their incredible work, Red Precordillera has been present in the struggle to defend the native Bosque Panul with initiatives that seek to bring together in that space all those interested in the environmental battle that grows ever more difficult.
On their website, we can see that their mission and vision is based on: "Developing a Public Park, managed by the community, that constitutes an Urban Natural Reserve of Native Forest from which environmental education and awareness are promoted, with an emphasis on the Santiago residents most lacking in public spaces and nature."
The organization continually hosts open events for anyone who wants to participate, in order to increase the number of visits to Panul and continue spreading their mission to prevent the destruction of the forest.
In their calendar, we can see for the next two weeks:
Sunday, December 7: Community work day and communal lunch. (volunteers are sought to build a welcoming entrance to the forest, thanks to donations from community members)
Sunday, December 14: — From 4:00 pm. Work day.
- 7:00 pm: yoga workshop.
We invite everyone to participate in their initiatives and raise awareness about what is happening. We live in the same city and must respect our natural surroundings — we don't want future generations to live in a place where they only see concrete landscapes.
