Our Own Path to Panul
Well, the truth is we've been working on this for some time now, but getting the three of us together is complicated due to scheduling, so the fact that we met up early on a Sunday was already a sign it would be a good day…
Walking from the E07 bus stop toward the forest entrance, we saw athletes descending and others arriving, fathers with children in hand, and a couple eating mote con huesillo from the "tío" who works out front. Everything we saw showed us what truly matters about the forest — the place is a meeting point where we can all go and spend time with our loved ones, or in solitude enjoying nature. We believe it is unjust that a place full of benefits would be taken from us by those who only have in mind the number of zeros on their checks — greedy people who have never stopped to enjoy what nature offers us.
If we set aside selfishness and look toward the future, we can see that without the forest, without the tree roots, without everything that is naturally found there, disasters can take on enormous dimensions. As discussed in previous posts, the best example is the landslide that occurred years ago — but beyond that, we are continuously shrinking our available spaces. The population keeps growing and so does the number of constructions. So we ask ourselves: do we really want to live in a city with no way out? It is unjust that we cannot share these wonders with future generations.
