The native forest that still survives in the district of La Florida is a place of extraordinary beauty, threatened by an absurd real estate project. Despite permanent human intervention, it still preserves a great number of species — with its trees including quillayes, litres, bollenes, espinos, maitenes, and others — as well as abundant wildlife, especially a wide variety of bird species. Hoping to introduce many people to the knowledge of our natural forests — so that we may perpetuate their permanence and care for future generations and for the benefit of our air, climate, and recreation — Red por la Defensa de la Precordillera invites you to participate in this day of connection with our natural surroundings.
