The green segment of 31 Minutos about El Panul forest
Through episodes of its newly premiered new season, Juan Carlos Bodoque from 31 Minutos dedicates his green segment to one of the most controversial environmental issues in Santiago: the disappearance of El Panul forest.
"Noelia told me that before long, this forest will be cleared to make way for apartment buildings and houses," Bodoque recounts in his green segment.
Noelia, meanwhile, describes the impact the eventual closure of the native forest will have on the lives of Santiago's residents: "With the disappearance of the forest, an entire ecosystem will disappear — one that supplies Santiago's inhabitants with oxygen produced by the trees," she noted.
In the video, it is explained that unique, protected species will vanish along with the forest. Meanwhile, from the fictional realm, Bodoque and other characters from the series prepare to call for action and raise banners with slogans similar to those seen in real life: "El Panul is not for sale."
At the end of his green segment, Bodoque asserts that the importance of the native forest "is not about a green patch in the middle of a concrete jungle, but about a complex ecosystem that must be preserved for the benefit of everyone."
