Municipality of La Florida requests that real estate company close access to Bosque Panul
The closure of one of the main entrances to Bosque Panul has surprised visitors. The closure covered the entire area adjacent to the street, which had previously been used as a parking area. A ditch was also dug to prevent cars from entering.

The unexpected closure led unknown individuals to destroy part of the entrance in order to access the park, leaving a large opening in the fence, which allowed motorcycles and cars to enter the forest indiscriminately.
Seeing this, the community did not stand idly by and immediately repaired the fence, building a new access point at the end of the street for walkers and cyclists, in order to avoid further damage to the forest from motorized vehicles entering.
After investigating what had happened, high-level sources at the real estate company Enaco stated that the closure was made at the request of La Florida's mayor, Rodolfo Carter.
We believe the mayor should be focused on creating a park that protects the entire Bosque Panul, rather than requesting closures or creating prohibitions that cause more harm than good.
Meanwhile, the community is watching carefully to see what will be built in the closed area: whether the extension of Bosque Panul toward the city will be promoted, or whether the mayor will persist in creating squares with exotic species like Oriental plane trees and palm trees that have nothing to do with the natural characteristics of the site — as he has already done in other parts of the municipality.
