On June 7, the order from the SEREMI of Housing and Urban Development, Marisol Rojas, arrived at the Municipality of La Florida to approve the real estate project at Fundo El Panul, located in the precordillera of the district. This instruction came because the Director of Municipal Works, Agustín Pérez, had rejected for the third time the project to subdivide and build 1,370 housing units submitted by the real estate company Gesterra.

The Municipal Council of Peñalolén unanimously agreed to convene a referendum for the approval of the Zoning Plan — even though the Plan has already been approved at the administrative, technical, and environmental levels after a process of more than two years. The council also agreed to repeat the environmental approval process in accordance with the new provisions of the Environmental Assessment Service and the Ministry of Housing.
